HOP2-MND1 recombination assembly factor complex Overview

GO Annotations consist of four mandatory components: a gene product, a term from one of the three Gene Ontology (GO) controlled vocabularies (Molecular Function, Biological Process, and Cellular Component), a reference, and an evidence code.

Summary
Recombinase cofactor that activates both RAD51 (P25454)- and DMC1 (P25453)-mediated homologous pairing during homologous recombination. Acts to stabilize the presynaptic filament, a right-handed helical nucleoprotein strand generated by RAD51 and DMC1 from single-stranded DNA derived from the nucleolytic processing of a primary lesion. The HOP2-MND1 complex synergizes with the filament to assemble the synaptic complex, and promotes DMC1-/RAD51-mediated strand exchange between the presynaptic filament and recombining double-stranded DNA to form a D-loop, acting with RAD54 (P32863), a nucleosome remodeler, to promote homologous pairing with the nucleosomal double-stranded DNA..
GO Slim Terms

The yeast GO Slim terms are higher level terms that best represent the major S. cerevisiae biological processes, functions, and cellular components. The GO Slim terms listed here are the broader parent terms for the specific terms to which this gene product is annotated, and thus represent the more general processes, functions, and components in which it is involved.
