Budding Yeasts Comparison Map around YLR155C on Chromosome XII
This page provides the results from the study described in Kellis et al. Sequencing and comparison of yeast species to identify genes and regulatory elements. Nature. 2003 May 15;423(6937):241-54.
Alignments among Saccharomyces cerevisiae ORFs, tRNAs and transposons with those predicted for the very closely related Saccharomyces paradoxus, Saccharomyces mikatae, and Saccharomyces bayanus species are shown below. Click here and read the paper for further explanation.
NOTE: Cliften et al have independently sequenced and analyzed the genomes of S. mikatae, S. kudriavzevii, S. bayanus, S. castellii, and S. kluyveri at Washington University in St. Louis. Because some of these species are more distant from cerevisiae, they are not displayed on this page, but are instead available via the Fungal Alignment link on the SGD locus pages or from this search page.
The Yeast Gene Order Browser (YGOB) can be used to visualize the syntenic context of any gene from S. cerevisiae, S. castellii, C. glabrata, A. gossypii, K. lactis, K. waltii, and S. kluyveri. This tool was developed by Kevin Byrne and Ken Wolfe (Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland), as described in Byrne and Wolfe. View the syntenic context of YLR155C in YGOB.
