Advanced Search to be Retired Help

Over the last few months we have incorporated all of the functionality of Advanced Search, and much more, into YeastMine, an interface that offers flexible queries and fast retrieval of chromosomal features, sequences, GO annotations, interaction data and phenotype annotations. ADVANCED SEARCH WILL BE RETIRED 8/31/2011.

As an introduction to YeastMine, Short video tutorials that walk you through some of the basic actions in YeastMine are also available.

This search allows you to retrieve chromosomal features that match the selected criteria.

Keyword searches can be performed using the Search box located at the top of most SGD pages. More specific searches, such as those for phenotype, protein, or sequence information, can be accessed from the Search Options page.

Advanced Search:
Step 1: Select chromosomal feature ( REQUIRED )
  • Select one or more feature types
Step 2: Narrow results ( OPTIONAL )
  • Select search criteria to return specific types of genes. Results will match all selected criteria.

  • Select search criteria by clicking on a checkbox, filling in a dialog box, or selecting a menu option.

  • Select or unselect multiple options for Chromosomes and GO terms by pressing the Control (PC) or Command (Mac) key while clicking.

you will retrieve features annotated directly to the GO terms you select as well as any children of those GO terms. If you select multiple GO terms, resulting features must be annotated to all terms you select (i.e. the search uses AND not OR). You can select or deselect multiple GO terms by pressing Control [PC] or Command [Mac] while clicking.
