Walsh S and Koehler CM (2008) Gazing at translocation in the mitochondrion. Cell 134(3):382-3
Abstract: Most mitochondrial proteins are synthesized in the cytosol and imported into the mitochondrion via molecular machines called translocons on the outer and inner mitochondrial membranes. Alder et al. (2008b) examine protein translocation into intact mitochondria by adapting fluorescent techniques first used to study translocation in the endoplasmic reticulum.
