Abstract: As part of the systematic sequencing project, the G. Valle and G. Volckaert labs re-sequenced chromosome III; most of the changes are due to variations between the strain used for the original sequence release (Oliver et al [1992] Nature 357: 38-46) and the standard S288C strain. These changes were incorporated into SGD on September 13, 2000. The Munich Information Center for Protein Sequences (MIPS) provided the data and has updated the chromosome III entry in GenBank (accession # X59720) to reflect these changes.
