Nomenclature History Notes
DateNote
2009-03-03The standard name of ORF YBR091C was changed from MRS5 (Mitochondrial RNA Splicing) to TIM12 (Translocase of the Inner Membrane), after obtaining consensus on the name change from researchers who have published information regarding this gene. The change was suggested because the TIM12 name is currently used exclusively in the literature and conforms to a nomenclature system developed by the mitochondrial import research community.
