Sequence Annotation Notes
2003-12-01Based on the automated comparison of closely related Saccharomyces species, Kellis et al. suggest that the stop site for FHL1/YPR104C be moved 44 nt downstream. This suggestion was reviewed by SGD curators, but will not be incorporated until supported by experimental data. The reason(s) for this decision are as follows: 1) The sequence analysis is inconclusive because the N-terminal sequence of this protein seems particularly divergent, and none of the available Saccharomyces species share exactly the same stop site. The difference in S. cerevisiae is most likely simply normal species variation.
