| 2007-08-16 | The standard name of ORF YNR017W was changed from MAS6 (Mitochondrial ASsembly) to TIM23 (Translocase of the Inner Membrane), after obtaining consensus on the name change from researchers who have published information regarding this gene. The change was suggested because the TIM23 name is used exclusively in the literature and is part of a nomenclature system developed by the mitochondrial import research community.
