Nomenclature History Notes
2004-06-15TUF1 has been used in the literature to refer to both RAP1/YNL216W (Shore, D. and Nasmyth, K. (1987) Cell 51:721; PMID:3315231), which encodes a transcription factor and telomere capping protein, and TUF1/YOR187W (Nagata, S. et al. (1983) Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci. 80:6192; PMID:6353412), which encodes mitochondrial translation elongation factor Tu.

1997-10-20Edition 14: RAP1/YNL216W has also been referred to as TUF1, but should not be confused with TUF1/YOR187W, which encodes mitochondrial translation elongation factor Tu.
