|2003-12-01||Based on the automated comparison of closely related Saccharomyces species, Kellis et al. suggest that the stop site for HMG2/YLR450W be moved 19 nt upstream. This suggestion was reviewed by SGD curators, but will not be incorporated until supported by experimental data. The reason(s) for this decision are as follows: (1) change to the suggested stop codon requires a sequence change in S. cerevisiae, however it is difficult to predict the exact position of the predicted sequence change because this ORF appears to be particularly divergent at the 3' end. Any proposed S. cerevisiae sequencing error(s) must be confirmed in S288C before the annotation is changed. |
