Nomenclature History Notes
DateNote
2007-06-19Prior to February 1996, the sequence corresponding to what is now ORF YJL210W/PEX2 was named PAF1 to be consistent with the mammalian homolog (peroxisome assembly factor-1), but was renamed PAS5 to avoid confusion with PAF1 (Polymerase Associated Factor 1).

2004-06-08CRT1 has been used in the literature to refer to both RFX1/YLR176C, which encodes a DNA binding protein, and PEX2/YJL210W which encodes a peroxisomal protein.

DateNote
1997-10-20Edition 14: PEX2 should not be confused with the DNA-binding protein RFX1, on chromosome XII, that has also been called CRT1
